A BIT ABOUT ME

Visual artist | Professor | Doodler
Isaac Lara

I’m a multi-disciplinary digital artist from Cuernavaca (MX), focused in 3D modelling, digital animation and interactive media arts.

I like to play and experiment with a multitude of styles and disciplines, trying new techniques and mediums on my work which I am very happy and proud to teach to my students in various universities where I’ve had the opportunity to work as a teacher.

I like to create characters, write their backstories and develop them visually through some doodles or directly on the computer, sometimes I do this for a client, or simply just because I love to do this.

I collaborated creating the Rigs in Maya for the 3D characters in the Stop Motion/CGI short film: “La Nostalgia del Sr. Alambre“. The Rigs were created in order to be as simpler as it can be, and intuitive for the animators.

  • Web Designer / Animator

    Festival de La Memoria: Ibero-American Documentary (2008 – 2009)
I collaborated in the 2008 and 2009 editions of the FMDI with the creation and maintenance of the web portals. In both, the design of the site should have been attached to the image that the event adopted, which were generated by designer Alejandro Magallanes. In 2008 the interface was completely generated in Flash, meeting the highly dynamic and interactive needs that the site required. In 2009, the challenge was to renew both the imagery for the site as well as the layout, making it more user-friendly and with more intuitive navigation using only HTML and CSS.

  • 3D Modeler & Texturing

    CS Group (2008)
I collaborate in this project which shows in an animated way, the result of several studies carried out in supermarkets, indicating strategic accommodation and an adequate presentation of the products, in this case the pears, for the company’s profits grows. My work consisted of modeling, texturing and arranging the fruit elements as well as some props, for later rendering with Mental Ray.

  • Graphic & Web Designer

    Los Ángeles del Amor (2008 – 2009)
I made a site that served as a presentation card for the music band for its introduction on the WWW. Designing their graphic identity for insertion in various advertising items (stickers, CD and DVD covers, spectacular posters, etc.). For the site, the interface was completely developed in HTML, inserting Flash elements for the deployment of dynamic elements.

  • 3D Layout Artist / Animation Assistant

    CS Group (2007 – 2008)
I collaborated mostly with the building of the 3D layout as well as texturing. I assisted with the modeling of backgrounds and props, as well as rig creation for the shortfilm “Chagas: The party’s over”.

  • Graphic & Web Designer

    Facultad de Artes, UAEM (2007 – 2008)
I joined the academic institution as a designer towards the end of my last semester in my Bachelor’s Degree. I was given the freedom necessary to bring new ideas that would break the years old static vibe, as well as the lack of efficiency towards information management of the site.
